One million books from Rome and Florence libraries to be scanned by Google

Search engine Google and Italian culture officials announced yesterday that Google is to digitise up to one million out-of-copyright Italian works from the national libraries in Rome and Florence.

Google will reportedly cover the costs of scanning the books, which include works by astronomer...
